I have started to learn how to use Linux and I am very slowly beginning to get the hang of it.Of course there are about a hundred or so different types of Linux and not all of them are all that user friendly. A couple of my friends have been trying to help me out, but they are a lot more advanced in computer science than I am. Right now I have been installing some Linux backup software on the old PC that I have been using for my experimentation. It was sitting around gathering dust and not doing anything else, so this is a good use for it and if it goes wrong I am not really losing all that much. It is not like I am going to be able to sell this old computer for any real money. You see people who try to sell old PC’s for what they paid for them, but I am guessing this computer is worth about the same amount of money you would spend to get a moderately priced meal at a cafe. I have not quite figured out what I am going to try to do with this computer. Obviously it is not really capable of doing any high level gaming. It has a video card on it, but it is really old and probably was not that great back when it was new. The best use for it would probably be as a server and most big servers use some variety of Linux, which is one of the reasons that I want to learn how to use it. I am going to eventually want to get a job in IT and that is going to be a lot easier if I know as many different programming languages as possible.
